Local authorities continue their efforts to vaccinate as many young people as possible • 12-year-old Yuval: "Mom and Dad convinced me" • 14-year-old Noam: "It's not fun to be locked up at home, I wish we could have a social life"

The Be'er Sheva Municipality, together with the Ministry of Health, has launched a "Nights of Vaccines" campaign in the "Ramot Sportiv" complex.

The vaccination campaign that was opened last night for members of all the health funds will continue today in the Neve Zeev neighborhood.

The goal is to vaccinate children aged 12 and over, as well as give a third dose to people aged 50 and over.

"Those who convinced me were the parents, the family and the friends," said Yuval Twisser, 12 and two months old.

She said, "All my friends have been vaccinated. They have been vaccinated for a long time."

The reason she's getting vaccinated just now is, as expected, the parents' hesitation - that they finally realized it was the right thing to do.

"Mom and Dad decided," says smiling Yuval proudly, after not getting excited about the shot.

"The hand is fine now, I'll tell friends to get vaccinated too," she says, "most of my girlfriends are vaccinated but there are a few more girls who haven't yet. I'll tell them to get vaccinated."

Although Yuval is only 12 years old, she is aware of the importance of the vaccine among children.

"The goal - that I will not infect or infect my grandparents, parents and family."

14-year-old Noam Noah is accompanied by her aunt, who is also only now receiving her first vaccine.

"My parents convinced me to get vaccinated, but I'm scared of the shot," she says with an embarrassed smile.

She said, "Even at school when I was vaccinated I was afraid of the shots, I have a phobia."

The fear, of course, is marginal in relation to the prolonged period the children have spent at home, closed.

"This virus must not break out again. Most of my friends have already been vaccinated. I am among the last."

Her hope, she says, is that it will be possible to open the school year.

"The Corona period was difficult, not fun to be closed at home. I wish it was possible to open everything and have a social life."

The person who managed to get vaccinated in two doses is 16.5-year-old Daniel Moshe from Jerusalem, who is in the 11th grade. "It was important for me to get vaccinated to keep my family safe," Daniel emphasized.

He said, "I had some hand pain in both vaccines, but not beyond that. I think this vaccine protects us and I realized I needed to get vaccinated to study for matriculation in an orderly fashion. It was also a factor. It is not appropriate for me to go back to zooming, especially when I have a matriculation To succeed in them. "

"Most of the friends got vaccinated"

Moshe adds that "Most of my friends have been vaccinated. I am on holiday in Eilat with friends, and all parties here require a green card. It is very important to vaccinate young people because we have a responsibility not to pass on the corona to other people. "Especially before the upcoming holiday season. On Seder night we were just the small family and I want to celebrate Rosh Hashanah with the extended family, and especially with my grandparents, who are important to me to keep healthy. Young people should go with a mask, because young people are the ones who go out and spend time."

Daniel also referred to the enforcement of corona procedures, which have returned to our lives: "It is good to have enforcement. It is especially daunting in young clubs. It is important to take care of ourselves and the environment. I make sure to wear a mask so as not to pass it on. ". In order to reach as many vaccinators as possible, Daniel turned to his teenage friends: "I call on all young people to get vaccinated, because this vaccine can save the lives of your loved ones."
