USA: Authorities call on the public to get vaccinated in a third dose against Corona
The recommendation was given following the spread of the Delta strain and evidence that the effectiveness of vaccines decreases over time, according to which Pfizer and Moderna's third vaccine will be given starting in another month to those who were vaccinated eight months ago.
The plan still needs FDA approval

U.S. health authorities today (Wednesday) recommended giving a third dose of the corona vaccine to all citizens, in order to increase their protection against the Delta strain and in light of the weakening of vaccines after some time.
The plan, outlined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and other health bodies, calls for an additional dose eight months after the second dose of Pfizer or Corona vaccines.
The start of the "booster" vaccines is expected to be in the week of September 20.
The Biden administration's plan also needs FDA approval, which examines the efficacy and safety of the third dose.
Israel was the first country in the world to start vaccinating elderly populations in the third dose, and other countries, such as Britain and Germany, are expected to start doing so soon.

In a statement, medical officials said it was "very clear" that the protection of vaccines against infection is waning over time, and now, with the rapid spread of the delta version, "we are beginning to see evidence of reduced efficacy against mild to moderate disease."
"Based on our latest assessment, the current protection against serious illness, hospitalizations and deaths may fade in the months ahead," they said.
The health authorities said that those who received a vaccine from the Johnson & Johnson company, given in one dose, would probably also need additional vaccine doses.
However, officials said they were awaiting further information and had not yet begun formulating a plan for the vaccine.
