César Iban Torres was charged this Monday with murder, child abuse and other charges related to the deadly crash it caused.

The man intentionally traveled the wrong way on Highway 101 in Ventura, causing a head-on collision in which his partner was killed and his own children injured.

Aimee García was 26 years old.

Torres, 31, will be indicted on one count of murder, assault with a deadly weapon and resisting arrest, along with four counts each of attempted murder and minor abuse in circumstances or conditions likely to cause major bodily injury or death. according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office.

County District Attorney George Gascón said: "A family was devastated by this tragic collision that

leaves four young children without their mother."

The crash caused by Torres resulted in the death of 26-year-old Aimee García and left the couple's four children, between 1 and 7 years old, with minor injuries.

Violence

Aimee García, 26, was traveling with her partner Cesar Iban Torres and their four children in an SUV that entered the 101 freeway in the opposite direction and intentionally crashed into a truck, killing the woman on the spot.

The emergency was reported on Thursday, August 12, and 24 hours later,

García's relatives accused Torres of being an abuser and violent.

was a victim of domestic violence for many years.

calls with meaningless messages from Torres to one of García's brothers.

According to a statement by Juan Zavala, García's brother, to local media, his brother-in-law told him that: "God spoke to him and said that he had to hand him over to his family."

Another call would have been made by one of the woman's children, minutes before the crash.

"his parents were struggling to take control of the wheel and that his mother saved them."
