Agatharied Hospital: 284 parking spaces instead of Blumenfeld - multi-storey car park will be ready by the end of 2023

The Haushamer municipal council has approved the construction of a temporary parking lot at the Agatharied hospital. It should stay until the new parking garage is in place at the end of 2023.

The Haushamer municipal council has approved the construction of a temporary parking lot at the Agatharied hospital.

It should stay until the new parking garage is in place at the end of 2023.

Agatharied - Some local councilors have their doubts about the temporary parking lot: They fear a new permanent solution.

Because: The history of the planned multi-storey car park for the Agatharied hospital is rooted in earlier times.

It was on March 7, 2012, when the Haushamer municipal council debated the problem of parking spaces at the clinic. The then mayor Hugo Schreiber (FW) had invited District Administrator Jakob Kreidl (CSU) to the meeting. It was also the predecessor of Olaf von Löwis who surprised the councils at this very meeting with the idea of a parking deck. But: In order to quickly remedy the situation, the committee initially agreed to convert the Schaberl-Wiese into a gravel parking lot: 100 parking spaces, "only temporarily, until a parking deck solution is found," our newspaper reported at the time. The demolition was linked to the requirement that enough parking spaces are permanently available. Kreidl had emphasized in this matter: "We do not want any salami tactics."

Now, almost ten years later, the gravel parking lot is paved - and the Hausham council is facing the same problem: the hospital urgently needs parking.

The difference to 2012: The parking garage is now in the starting blocks.

Agatharied Hospital has grown - from an administrative point of view, there is no time limit for temporary arrangements

Hausham's mayor Jens Zangenfeind (FWG) said in the latest meeting of the committee: “The hospital now employs 1,700 people.” The parking space shortage is “very precarious” - also in view of the many outpatient visitors who use radiation therapy, for example. That is why the district has submitted an application to the municipality for the construction of a provisional parking lot, which - limited to the completion of the multi-storey car park - is to create 284 parking spaces on the current flower field.

During the construction period of the multi-storey car park, which should be completed in around two and a half years, 280 parking spaces will be left on the existing terraced parking area. Zangenfeind emphasized - similar to Kreidl nine years ago - that the application should “not be understood as a salami tactic”. However, the concern is urgent because of the number of patients. "In the past there were 400 to 500 births per year in the hospital - today there are between 1200 and 1400."

Thomas Danzer (SPD) pressed for a time limit for the provisional solution to be set in the proposed resolution this time.

Marina Haimerl, an employee of the town hall administration, explained: "The temporary parking lot is designed so that it can and must be dismantled without leaving any residue." .

At this point, the application can only be approved as an “other project” because there is no permanent impairment due to the dismantling.

"A permanent existence is not possible at this point because of the zoning plan," said Haimerl.

Michael Ertl (SPD): "I assume that the parking lot will not be dismantled" - two dissenting voices

Harda von Poser (Greens) said: “It would make sense to make the parking spaces a little larger.” Site manager Sepp Schreder said that this was not possible according to the specifications, but: “We want to draw two lines between the parking spaces.” Also two to three Disabled parking spaces are planned. Zangenfeind added that he advocated parking spaces that could also be used with orange parking permits. "That would also take patients with temporary impairments into account." Votes from the committee that these parking spaces should be better identified on the parking spaces in front due to the great distance from the hospital should be passed on to the client.

Ultimately, the local council voted for the approval by a majority.

Only Marlies Fellermeier-Liebl (FWG) and Michael Ertl (SPD) were against it.

Fellermeier-Liebl did not want to comment on her dissenting voice.

When asked, Ertl said: "I assume that the parking lot will not be dismantled." .

space for 990 parking spaces

." Regarding the delay, the press spokeswoman explains: "This redesign or the preparation of the necessary development plan took some time, so it wasn't started.
