Anyone who currently has a room in Tölzer Land can consider themselves lucky - or they have booked well in advance.

Camping sites, holiday apartments and hotels in the district are fully booked.

Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen - The Tölz Tourist Information is inundated with inquiries. “We make constant phone calls to arrange accommodation - also in all municipalities around Tölz. We had to accommodate one guest in Geretsried, ”says spa director Brita Hohenreiter. "We have sent emails to the hosts that they should tell us every gap." Many would spontaneously look for a place to sleep in the area. “Especially cyclists who use long-distance cycle paths,” she reports. Peter Fritz, owner of the Tölz “Hotel am Wald”, notices this: “We are almost fully booked by the end of September.” You notice that the entire area is full. “There's a lot going on in the restaurant too,” says the hotelier happily. Above all, the second corona summer shows that vacationers stay in the region for a longer period of time.“In the past, the bookings were mostly for two nights. Now many spend a week or two here. "Hohenreiter notes the same:" There has been a complete change since Corona. People stay longer and there are many families here. ”According to the spa director, all leisure activities are generally well received. "We have many well-attended events outside this year."

Bed boom in Tölzer Land

Only the weather does not always play into the cards of the operators of leisure facilities. "Especially not on the weekends," says Hannes Zintel, owner of the Blombergbahn. “We had 20 percent fewer guests in July. As soon as it rains, there is a lot less going on. ”In general, however, he also feels the high capacity utilization in the region. “People have a lot of catching up to do. If the weather is good, we will have a lot of happy guests. ”Zintel hopes that August and September“ will bring many more summery days ”. According to Hohenreiter, it is becoming clear that the trend towards “vacation at home” - as in summer 2020 - is unbroken. “The majority of the guests come from Germany.” Tölz did not suffer any immense losses when it came to tourists from abroad. “We have never been dependent on the foreign market. Big cities tend to have the problem."The current rush for recovery in the Tölzer Land is" absolutely necessary "for local businesses after the corona losses in winter and spring, she emphasizes.

Majority of holidaymakers already double vaccinated - checking 3Gs has become routine

Christoph Seitz, boss of the Arabella Brauneck Hotel Lenggries, is also pleased about the good booking situation. His rooms have been "almost fully booked" since the beginning of the first German summer vacation in June. This will remain so until the end of August. “We already had almost 10,000 guests this summer,” he reports. The control of the three Gs (i.e. whether a newcomer has been vaccinated, tested or recovered) as an accommodation requirement works well. Fritz thinks the same: “It feels like more than 70 percent of the guests have been vaccinated twice. The three Gs have become routine. ”According to Seitz, there are only isolated problems when tourists from federal states with different corona regulations arrive. “In many countries, only children aged twelve and over need a negative test certificate. Here in Bavaria, however, this already applies to children from the age of six.“This leads to discussions every now and then. “For such cases, we keep self-tests in the hotel, which are then carried out directly on site.” Even the international incidence developments would be reflected in the demand. For example, when Mallorca was declared a high incidence area. “We had an unlikely number of inquiries on the next day,” explains Seitz - and Brita Hohenreiter observed the same thing.

Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen: Camping has been more popular than ever since Corona

Not only the hotels are feeling the tourism boom. “Holidays in holiday apartments and on campsites are extremely popular,” says Hohenreiter. Anton Egold runs the campsite at Bibisee in Königsdorf. “We have been full since the start of the holidays. If a guest cancels, the pitch is re-allocated within ten minutes. ”The pandemic has triggered a real“ camping trend ”. After all, according to Egold, there were 700,000 new motorhome registrations last year. The range of campers is enormous: “We have pilgrims who come on foot with a tent for one night. At the same time also some for two weeks with luxury mobile homes for one million euros, ”he says with a laugh. It comes as no surprise to Egold that camping is so popular. “You are more self-sufficient and have more distance than in a hotel.“A similar picture emerges at other courses. The campsite on the Kesselberg in Kochel or the mountain campsite in Lenggries announce via the Internet and telephone that they will be fully booked in August.
