Title defended: Sven Pollert from Markt Schwaben is again Upper Bavarian triathlon champion
Markt Schwaben / Poing / Wörthsee - After a year break, the 35th Wörthsee Triathlon with almost 600 participants could now take place.
After the start, Markt Schwabener Sven Pollert was able to break away from the rest of the field early on on the 1,500 meter long swim course.
After about 500 meters, Pollert took the lead at the first buoy and from then on set the pace.
With almost two minutes ahead of the rest of the field, Markt Schwabener entered the first transition area together with Marchelo Kunzelmann Loza from Regensburg.
Here, too, Pollert was faster and was the first to get on his bike to tackle the 40-kilometer cycle route.

With a lead of over two and a half minutes, he switched to the final ten-kilometer run. After a wild race to catch up, Kunzelmann Loza was able to catch up after about halfway and break away from Pollert. Ultimately, Pollert only had to admit defeat to Kunzelmann Loza and thus secured second place overall and defended his title as Upper Bavarian Champion, as Kunzelmann Loza does not start in an Upper Bavarian club. Together with his two team mates Gabriel Lucic and Patrick Göll, SG Poing also achieved third place in the team classification. - svp
