Fürstensfeldbruck district - United forces for climate protection: Two new employees have recently been strengthening the climate protection management in the district office.

Together with the climate protection officers of the cities and municipalities in the district, the team is driving ongoing and new measures: the implementation of the CO2 action plan, a heating concept and now also a hydrogen strategy.

“The increase in personnel for climate protection in the district illustrates the urgent need for action. The new colleagues in the Fürstenfeldbruck District Office and the municipalities are working with a breath of fresh air on the joint implementation of climate protection and the energy transition ”, informs the District Office. Regular exchanges make it possible to benefit from the experiences of others, implement projects and use synergy effects together.

The regular network meetings deal with climate protection projects of the district office and the municipalities as well as current challenges and possible solutions.

On the one hand, electric cargo bikes were already on the agenda (there has been a new funding guideline since the beginning of March) and, on the other hand, climate adaptation in social institutions (a funding program from Zukunft - Umwelt - Gesellschaft (ZUG) gGmbH) was on the agenda.

Other topics of the last meeting included the climate alliance, sustainable mobility and CO2 accounting for the district.

Since the start of some new colleagues, including in the city of Fürstenfeldbruck and the city of Germering, the corona-related exchange has taken place digitally.

Contribution to CO2 reduction in the district

At the meeting at the end of July, in addition to the establishment of an energy agency and the climate impact assessment in draft resolutions, the implementation of the CO2 action plan for the district was discussed. This catalog includes ten points that make a significant contribution to CO2 reduction in the district and serves as a work program for climate protection management in the district office for the next few years. In this context, the climate protection management informed about the new team composition. Recently, the new colleague Johannes Dinkel has been devoting himself to measure one of the CO2 action plan - the development of a heating concept for the district. “At the beginning, the focus is on establishing contact with the relevant actors in the district in order to sound out the status quo and the potential for heat supply,” explains Dinkel.Through the exchange with the energy players and municipalities, current developments as well as local conditions are incorporated into the concept design, continues Dinkel. Alexander Pichler, also new to the team, is working on measure six of the work program - a hydrogen strategy for the district.

In the future, further joint activities are to take place, similar to the “Climate Tips for Lent” campaign, which can be viewed on the District Office's website under the heading “Climate Protection in Everyday Life”.

The campaigns are intended to sensitize citizens to climate protection and show simple ways in which each individual can make a contribution to conserving resources and saving energy.

The district-wide campaign city cycling, which was successful this year, is an example of the successful cooperation in the district.
