A warehouse caught fire on Wednesday evening rue Pierre, leaving four injured, including two police officers who intervened before the arrival of the firefighters

The fire could have turned into a drama.

1,000 m² of warehouse were ravaged by flames on Wednesday evening, in Saint-Ouen, at rue Pierre, in the Docks district, in an area undergoing urban renewal.

"The building was abandoned but partially squatted and especially adjoining barracks occupied by non-sedentary people", details the Paris Fire Brigade (BSPP).

The firefighters were called around 8:15 p.m. on the spot.

90 firefighters were mobilized to overcome the flames.

Four people were injured, including two police officers who arrived at the scene before the firefighters intervened.

According to the BSPP, only the two police officers had to be transported to the hospital.

According to the police union SGP Police 93 Unit, which salutes their courage, the police went to rue Pierre, after having been called for detonations.

Hearing a person crying for help inside the building, officers climbed the facade to assist.

They then succeeded in extracting the victim from the premises and found a disoriented second that they took out of the blaze.

The camp adjacent to the building was evacuated but this Thursday morning, the inhabitants were back on the scene again. If the fire is now extinguished, the firefighters were still present in the morning to ensure that there was no resumption of fire. The police laboratory also visited the site to determine the origin of the incident.
