Dürnbach

- The goal is ambitious: Diana and Renaldo Scola want to change the food market in Germany from Dürnbach.

Your idea is "LAVLI".

There should be many shops under this label - with farmers as partners.

To give the project a boost, the couple set up an online shop.

There is a lot of talk about the madness of letting meat and vegetables travel halfway around the world until they are on your plate.

Diana and Renaldo Scola want to do something.

The two founded LAVLI, the company's headquarters are in Dürnbach.

The growing LAVLI team is working in the coworking facility there to open LAVLI stores in the district.

This according to the cooperative principle.

Members buy products from local producers in LAVLI shops.

Membership costs 120 euros a month, and the money is credited to your account when you shop.

The Scolas copied the concept from Hansalim, a cooperative from South Korea.

They are tinkering with how it all works in Upper Bavaria and would like people who are committed to copying from them.

Bring the idea to the surface

“Social franchise” is part of LAVLI's business idea.

Anyone who wants to open a LAVLI shop in their place of residence will receive help without incurring any fees.

“We want to bring it to the general public,” explains Renaldo Scola.

Solidarity is the keyword: farmers get good wages, buyers good food.

It's direct marketing on a grand scale.

Since spring, interested parties can register for membership on the homepage www.lavli.org.

It must be at least 200 to open a shop.

So far 120 people have registered.

That is not enough to finance the investment in a shop.

But there are so many people who, like the Scolas, are eager to feed on food from the region.

20 producers take part

The large number of around 20 producers who would like to sell their products through LAVLI is also encouraging.

LAVLI will have meat, fish, cereals, pasta, bread and much more on offer.

“Vegetables are difficult, however,” admits Diana Scola.

"There is simply no vegetable-growing area here."

But she was able to win over a vegetable producer from the north of Munich.

There will also be wine from Lake Constance and Greek olive oil.

All of this in the online shop, which is now being set up instead of the first real shop.

“It's the first operational step,” explains Diana Scola.

The founders want to stay on schedule and launch sales via LAVLI in September or October.

Actually, the online shop should only have been set up after the opening of the first stationary store.

But the LAVLI team stands for flexible and creative solutions, says Diana Scola.

The aim is to have their own stores

The model is not yet fully developed.

It is necessary to set up three or four pick-up stations and define processes.

The customers live scattered in the district of Miesbach, occasionally also in the district of Rosenheim, the distances to the pick-up station should be short.

Many members want delivery to their doorstep.

But to achieve this sustainably is a challenge, says Scola.

Especially since the delivery via one of the large service providers would be very expensive.

In any case, the LAVLI online shop is primarily intended to give impetus to attract additional members. "It shouldn't be a pure online shop," assures Diana Scola: "The shop should also be a meeting place."
