Tens of thousands of people in their 40s tonight (Thursday) ordered appointments for the third dose of vaccination against the corona virus, immediately after the HMOs announced that their friends at these ages can already order appointments to get vaccinated starting tomorrow.



Some even chose not to wait - and have already gone to clinics to get vaccinated.

This, following the announcement by the Ministry of Health that it recommends vaccinating in the booster dose also those aged 49-40 who have passed five months since receiving the second dose.



Lior Meir Sion, 44, from Hod Hasharon, was vaccinated at the United Health Insurance Fund.

"As soon as I heard that the 40-year-old had been given the opportunity to be vaccinated, I went to Meuhedet's clinic without a queue and hoped for the best, and they did agree to vaccinate me on the spot," he says.

The recommendation was forwarded to the Director General of the Ministry of Health, Prof. Nachman Ash, who is expected to approve it.
