Erding - election campaign in front of a modest backdrop: Bavaria's Greens leader Eva Lettenbauer advertised her party on Kleiner Platz in Erding.

Only a handful of people gathered around the booth.

Street campaigning is tough business.

The Greens Bundestag candidate Christoph Lochmüller and state chairwoman Eva Lettenbauer also felt this on Thursday afternoon at their appearance on the Kleiner Platz in Erding.

Only a handful of listeners gathered around the stand - most of them were clearly recognizable as party friends thanks to appropriately designed FFP2 protective masks, including District Councilor Stephan Glaubitz and board members Doris Kraeker and Cornelia Ermeier.

The day before, Chancellor candidate Annalena Baerbock, whose appearance in Dachau had 1,500 visitors, had proven that there is another way.

In Erding it was a meager hundredth of that.

“Ask the Greens” was the format, in Erding mainly Greens asked Greens.

Lettenbauer opened the appointment with the euphoric note: “We live in turbulent times, everything is possible,” she called out in view of the possible participation of the eco-party in the next federal government.

From conversations with entrepreneurs, she reported that there, too, the call for a green turnaround could be heard more and more often.

The switch to renewable energies is still at the beginning, wind power has almost come to a standstill in Bavaria, and there is still a lot of room for improvement in solar systems.

However, Lettenbauer did not mention the demand for a duty.

There is also an enormous amount of catching up to do with childcare and afternoon care. The current offer does not suit the modern world of work. She appealed to the state and municipalities to do everything possible to ensure that regular lessons are possible in the autumn - using air filters that are 100 percent paid for by the state. Basically, she called for better equipment in schools. The Greens want to invest 50 billion euros in the public infrastructure - year after year from 2022.

When asked how he imagines agriculture in ten years' time, Lochmüller replied: "Farmers are prisoners in the wrong system".

This forces them to produce as cheaply as possible.

The motto “wax or soft” is harmful.

Services for the cultural landscape should be better remunerated.

At least in Bavaria, with its small farms, there is less to worry about about animal welfare.

If everyone practiced a little renunciation, not so many animals would have to be kept.

Lettenbauer stood behind the German automotive industry "provided it builds climate-neutral cars".

In doing so, she is not only thinking of the corporations, but also of the suppliers who need government assistance in the redesign and redesign of their workplaces.
