A renowned surfer from Mar del Plata died while riding a wave in Mexico

the Mar del Plata surfer Carlos Di Pace died on Thursday morning

on the beaches of Boca de Pascuales, in the Mexican Pacific.

He was rescued by other surfers, although attempts to revive him were in vain.

The news shocked the atmosphere of the sport of Mar del Plata.

Di Pace, 48, was a lifeguard at Punta Mogotes resorts, a good swimmer as described by local media, and surfed big waves.

He was one of the promoters of Stand Up Paddle and 

joined the Argentine surf team in 1994

From a family of tables, his brother Santiago was two-time Argentine champion.  

According to the newspaper El Commentary, of the University of Colima, Di Pace
