The source told a Saudi newspaper that raising the rankings means "possibility of reaching real understandings" • According to the report, Egypt is hoping for a breakthrough during Bennett's visit to Cairo

Raising the level of talks between Israel and Egypt means "the possibility of reaching real understandings on several issues, including the resumption of peace talks based on a two-state solution."

This was said this morning (Friday) by Egyptian diplomat Raja Ahmad Hassan, who serves as a member of the Egyptian Foreign Affairs Council, to the Saudi newspaper Al-Sharq Al-Awsat.

This is against the background of Prime Minister Naftali Bennett's visit to Egypt soon.

According to the report, Egypt is expecting a breakthrough in renewing the peace process between Israel and the Palestinians during the prime minister's visit to Cairo.

As you may recall, Levant is expected to pay a visit to Washington and a meeting with President Joe Biden.

Hassan told the Saudi newspaper that Egypt had come a long way in its efforts to reach a solution to various issues, the first of which was a dialogue between Israel and the terrorist organization Hamas and the rehabilitation of the Gaza Strip.

The same applies to the issue of prisoners, the transfer of goods and movement in crossings.

The Egyptian diplomat claimed that raising the level of talks was related to the resumption of a serious process of peace talks in accordance with the two-state solution with a defined timetable.

Hassan believes that reaching real understandings with Israel and starting peace talks require a genuine Israeli desire and a clear American desire to achieve this step.

He raised the possibility that the Biden administration would press for a solution, including during the current term.

This week, Egyptian Intelligence Minister Abbas Kamel visited Israel and met with Prime Minister and Defense Minister Bnei Gantz.

According to the report, Bennett is discussing with Kamel diplomatic, security and economic aspects of Israeli-Egyptian relations, in addition to the security situation in the Gaza Strip.

It was also noted that Kamel's visit came as part of Egyptian efforts to achieve a long-term truce with Hamas.
