Ella Gan, 18, returned to Israel to enlist in the IDF, after six years in Barcelona • She joined the Garin Zabar program, and surprisingly was placed in a kibbutz where her family roots are rooted • , She says

Ella Gan, 18, has been living in Barcelona for six years, following the decision of her parents Oren and Orit to leave the country due to their father's work.

The 12-year-old Ella had difficulty adjusting to the transition, and ended up saying in her heart that at the age of 18 she would return to Israel and enlist in the IDF.

Six years passed, during which Ella adapted to the new living environment and even established a Hashomer Hatzair nest in Barcelona.

She will soon be enlisted in the IDF, as she dreamed.

The surprise was great when they were told that they would live in the nucleus of Kibbutz Kfar Masaryk.

The kibbutz was founded by her grandparents Yitzhak and Mashka, who immigrated from Czechoslovakia and Lithuania and got to know each other as part of the Hashomer Hatzair nucleus of which they were members.

The daughter of Yitzhak and Mishka Ada, who is the mother of Oren and the grandmother of Ella, is one of the first of the kibbutz and lives there to this day.

In doing so, in effect, a family circle was created, which inevitably holds a real history.

"I could not choose a kibbutz and the placement was random," says Ella.

"It took me a long time to decide on the aliyah, but once I made a decision I was focused on it, I waited and got excited. It was not an easy decision to leave home, friends and parents, the comfortable place, but I believe it was the right decision and hope it will be good."

The family, who are currently visiting their homeland, will soon return to Barcelona - when Ella stays in the country.

According to Father Oren, "We are always Israeli and we are sure that we will return here one day. Every parent who sends his children to the army has excitement accompanied by fears. Here everything is double, because we are not by her side. Ella is 18 and she is a leader and pioneer herself Understanding, support and love. "

Immigration and Absorption Minister Pnina Tamano Sheta, who attended the 30th anniversary of the Zabar nucleus, said: "Nuclear trainees are the most authentic expression of the concept of Zionism - female soldiers who choose to immigrate to Israel and enlist in the army to protect us all."
