This man knows how to help himself: Michael Stadler from Berg, who recently passed the test to become a plumber and heating engineer at the master schools at Munich's Ostbahnhof, has a wide range of manual skills.

The 27-year-old is a professional when it comes to sanitary, heating and air-conditioning technology and can even “do it himself” at home if the plaster is peeling off the wall.

Berg

- Stadler graduated from the Isar-Loisach-Realschule Wolfratshausen in 2013 and then completed a three-and-a-half-year apprenticeship as a system mechanic at Oberrieder H. Heiz-Sanitär in Aufkirchen. He spent three more years there as a journeyman. "During this time I saved myself a small financial cushion, with which I could finance the master craftsman," says Stadler. Unfortunately, he was not entitled to master BAföG because of real estate, so he had to pay the master out of pocket.

He sees the year at the master school calmly: “I didn't find it stressful. If you really want that and stand behind it, it's fun. ”In the coming years, Stadler could envision going self-employed, but initially he plans to work as a foreman in his previous company for some time:“ There is just a certain thing A measure of respect for remaining loyal to the company that has invested a lot of money in you over the years. ”He also really enjoys working there. “I am fascinated by the variety of work. We not only take care of the sanitary and heating technology, but also deal with solar technology and renewable energies, ”he enthuses.

Stadler's interest is rooted in the family: “Three of my uncles are plumbers, like my grandpa and my father, who unfortunately has passed away.

I got a taste of it after school and I noticed that I like this job. ”In private, Stadler is a member of the Berg fire brigade - and as a senior boy in the Berg fraternity.

The young man, who likes to wear lederhosen, emphasizes: "We are responsible for maintaining tradition in the village."
