In the future, the tours in the Ebersberg district are to be longer and more inclusive.

The Grafinger Faschingsgesellschaft makes its train available for this.

Ebersberg

- "Josefine" is the name of the locomotive that pulls the Ebersberger Faschingsgesellschaft train.

It is named after the wife of Sepp Honauer, as a small compensation for the many hours that the men of the carnival society did not spend at home at the time, but spent building the little train.

It was baptized with this name more than a quarter of a century ago, when Walter Brilmayer had just become mayor for the first time.

Now “Josefine” can go out during the year too: In cooperation with district home nurse Thomas Warg, guided tours in the district are now offered all year round by train.

Idea behind the new tours: simple and inclusive

"We already had our baptism of fire," says Warg.

“That was a private birthday party.” In the meantime, word of the concept got around and the orders dragged on until October.

However, Warg does not yet know exactly what the tours will cost in the future.

The idea behind the guided tours by train is simple and inclusive: people for whom a guided tour is not possible should also be able to take part in the guided tours in the future.

"We are very happy that we can now actively do something for Ebersberg during the year," says Robert Gockner, President of the Faschingsgesellschaft.

City guide: "I gfrei mi very."

So far, the guides have had a very small radius, explains Warg.

The route can be put together individually, "some only want half an hour, others say: We don't even start under ten kilometers".

But you can't go beyond these ten kilometers.

This disadvantage is eliminated by train.

“I am very free,” says Robert Bauer, one of the city guides.

Now one can also think about combining tours that would otherwise be too much.

Perhaps they are simply too far apart for a walking tour to be feasible.

There is space for around 32 adults in the four carriages.

“We have already driven more with children,” says train driver Franz Daser.

Guided tours are offered on all topics.

There are 16 leaders, says Warg.

Everyone has their specialty.

As well as Roswitha Hülser, who leads witch tours as “Hofwirtin von Ebersberg”.

Guided tours especially for children are also offered.

"Shuttle service" in the Ebersberger Forest

The open tours, which anyone can easily take part in, are also intended for people who don't know anyone in the district, says Warg and goes on to say: The first “real” open tour they want to offer by train will be with former Mayor Brilmayer who also works as a city guide.

Warg reveals that they have also come up with something for the “Open Monument Day” on September 12th.

In cooperation with the state forests, they are allowed to drive their train into the forest on this day.

The whole thing is planned like a shuttle service in the amusement park, with guides who are available at each station.

For free.

“Next stop: White woman,” reveals Warg.
