In the middle of the night and in the pitch dark, a jogger and a cyclist crashed so badly that the night athlete was seriously injured in the hospital.

Nocturnal darkness and lack of lighting

In the night from Thursday to Friday, around 12:45 a.m., a 17-year-old from the Munich district rode a bicycle on the sidewalk and bike path running parallel to Glonner Strasse in the direction of Brunnthal.

This path has no street lighting.

According to the police report, there was also no legally required lighting on the 17-year-old's bike - he was completely invisible.

Collision: 42-year-old seriously injured, picked up by the ambulance service

At the same time, a 42-year-old from the Munich district was jogging the same way.

According to previous investigations, there was then a clash between the two people.

The 42-year-old fell, was seriously injured and was taken to a hospital by the emergency services.

The 17-year-old was uninjured.

The Munich traffic police took over the further investigations.

The 17-year-old was charged with negligent bodily harm.
