The members of the Friends of Pantaleonsberg were hardworking during the lockdowns.

Among other things, the new local chronicle of Kranzberg was completed.

Kranzberg

- It was never boring during the pandemic for the Pantaleonsberg Friends' Association. The Kranzberger Heimatmuseum was looked after with a lot of love and was present again after the end of the lockdown to present the exciting history of the homeland. At the annual general meeting, the association's obligation was now over and the board of directors was re-elected. It was almost taken for granted that Kranzberg's walking history book, Alfons Berger, was re-elected as chairman of the friends' association. After that, however, there was a change, because Elfriede Kerschl no longer stood for election as 2nd chairwoman and was said goodbye with a large bouquet of flowers.

Silvia Tüllmann will now take over her position.

Werner Ecker was confirmed as treasurer, but indicated that he might be giving up his honorary position in two years.

The management team is completed in the tried and tested manner by secretary Gerlinde Moldan.

The association members also appointed four assessors: Manfred Moosauer, Manfred Dörner, Herbert Kieslinger and Ferdinand Kieslinger.

Wolfgang Horn remains the auditor as usual.

This means that the association is now well positioned again.

Worked on the chronicle

During the lockdowns in the corona pandemic, this association did not get bored, because they worked meticulously on the Kranzberger Chronik, which has become a proud 550 pages.

This book will be printed with an edition of 1000 copies and will be presented to the public on October 1st on the Pantaleonsberg.

"The chronicle was many years of work," said chairman Alfons Berger.

Berger also hopes that more normality will return to the local history museum.

In 2020, only 179 visitors were registered, which was no surprise given the long lockdowns.

In addition, there was the opening in the summer months, when in hot temperatures people were more drawn to the lake than to the museum.

Looking ahead cautiously, Berger explained that they were now planning one or the other special exhibition on the Pantaleonsberg.

The last exhibition was in January 2020 with private pictures from Kranzberg Castle.

The archive has a lot of new material

In his accountability report, local historian Berger made it clear that the archive has grown noticeably.

The association received 15 moving boxes with documents and readings from the estate of Traudl Bachmaier.

Manfred Moosauer also bequeathed his collection to the association.

“This required weeks of work-up in order to be able to present particularly valuable finds to the public,” explained Alfons Berger.

In addition, the community archive housed in the old schoolhouse received a number of documents from the overcrowded registry of the Kranzberg town hall.
