The evacuations of German nationals and Bundeswehr helpers are in full swing. But hundreds are still trying to flee the Taliban. Also a mother and her daughters from Munich.

The evacuations of German nationals and Bundeswehr helpers are in full swing.

But hundreds are still trying to flee the Taliban.

Also a mother and her daughters from Munich.

Munich - It's a horror. Ayla (12) took the happy selfie of herself, her five and a half year old sister Liah and mother Samira (44; all names changed) on August 3rd - on the plane on the way to Kabul, in Samira's homeland, which has now become hell. Nobody suspected that it would happen so quickly. Samira wanted to visit her sister with her daughters. Since the Taliban seized power on Sunday, the Munich resident and her daughters have lived in fear of death.

Even before the Taliban * moved in, they had taken care of the journey home.

But then it was said that the daughters would have to fly without the mother.

Because only girls born in Munich have a German passport.

Mother Samira only has an unlimited residence permit for Germany.

Munich resident with daughters in Kabul: Cell phones often hidden for fear of the Taliban

Father Baran (name changed), who stayed in Munich with his third daughter, suffers from terrible fears.

He is in contact with his loved ones via cell phone.

That works less and less.

Samira and her daughters rarely have electricity.

They also hid the cell phones - for fear that the Taliban might find them and discover that the girls and their mother had contact with Germany *.

"They wear veils and try not to attract attention," says a good friend of Samira.

Samira wrote to her: "The Taliban are everywhere, they have already been in the apartment, have left again, but who knows when they will come back." When Samira looks from the apartment window onto the street, she sees armed Taliban fighters.

They tried to get to the airport by car, but in vain - the Taliban sent them back.

Munich resident with daughters in Kabul: return flight tickets for Monday will probably expire

Politics is their last hope.

We have already reported on the three Munich women captured in Kabul.

Munich's third mayor, Verena Dietl, spoke up for her with Foreign Minister Heiko Maas.

But the three of them are running out of time.

They still have their return flight tickets, which are actually valid for next Monday, but civil aviation has ceased.

Brigadier General Jens Arlt, who heads the evacuation operation of the German armed forces, warned on Thursday that the situation at the airport in Kabul would worsen.
