The corona rule could deny unvaccinated people entry into hotels.

The bosses of the hotel and restaurant association DEHOGA are angry.

District - negative corona test or proof of vaccination and recovery, distance rules, mask requirement: A hotel visit in the second coronavirus summer is associated with many restrictions.

The hotel and restaurant association DEHOGA and hoteliers from the Munich district are calling for relaxation.

However, the government could make access to hotels more difficult - with 2G.

2G is the guarantee of entry to hotels, for example, only for vaccinated and genesis patients.

Currently, the following applies to hotel guests 3G: Vaccinated and Genesis, but also those who have been tested, are allowed to enter hotels.

After the corona resolutions of the federal and state governments last week, it should stay that way for the time being.

But the resolutions are not enough for Bavaria's Prime Minister.

He calls for 2G.

"I am not a friend of the 2G regulation"

"I'm not a fan of the 2G regulation," says Angela Inselkammer.

She is the well-known landlady, hotelier and brewery owner from Aying, and president of DEHOGA in Bavaria.

“I know a lot of people who cannot be vaccinated for health reasons,” she says.

With a test, unvaccinated people would still have to get access to hotels.

In addition: "The house rights remain with the hotelier," says Inselkammer.

He is allowed to decide who has access and who is not.

Inselkammer's colleague Thomas Geppert also thinks so.

He is the country manager of DEHOGA.

“I think 2G is legally difficult to implement for hotels,” he adds.

Geppert calls for much more relief: "If 3G, then without personal restrictions, distance requirement and mask requirement on the seat." At the meetings in hotels, guests would have to wear the mouth and nose protection on the seat.

"If 2G comes, then it comes"

Theresia Mair from the Hachinger Hof in Oberhaching has no illusions: "If 2G comes, then it will." Access to hotels only for vaccinated people and genesis would be compulsory for vaccinations through the back door, says the manager.

Mair believes that her 74-room house would not lose many customers if the arrangement came into effect.

“Most of the people who check in with us are vaccinated,” she says.

Stefan Erber from the hotel of the same name in Ismaning sees no reason for tightening the rules.

With his distance and hygiene concept, guests are well protected, says the hotelier and restaurateur.

He is not fooling himself: “There is no avoiding vaccination,” says Erber.

A citizen in the Munich district who vehemently opposes 2G is Fried Saacke from Ismaning - although he himself has been vaccinated against Covid-19.

“Vaccinate or go through the disease, that's my choice,” he says.

That is none of the government's business.

Saacke even goes further: "I would not book hotels that voluntarily only offer 2G."

With "all the frills" of the state, he could not relax in hotels.

According to the federal-state resolutions, guests must at least be prepared for a tightening of the rules in hotels: If the seven-day incidence is over 35, hotel guests have to prove a negative corona test twice a week from Monday onwards.

Home office is mandatory for unvaccinated employees?

If 2G came later for hotels, says DEHOGA boss Thomas Geppert, there would have to be an obligation to work from home for unvaccinated employees, or homeschooling for unvaccinated teachers. "The catering and hotel industry has made a special sacrifice long enough," says President Angela Inselkammer. The fact that the pressure on the population is once again being exerted on the back of the catering industry, "I oppose this," says the entrepreneur. Hotels are also "completely safe areas" with 3G. “What's going to happen to that?” She says.

Politicians now need more intelligent solutions than restrictions, says Inselkammer. The ordinance of the Bavarian state government remains to be seen, said Thomas Geppert on Friday. The information from the state government is not available to hoteliers and restaurateurs shortly before the regulation is implemented on Monday. Once again.
