A border fighter who was fatally wounded in the head by gunfire during the riots in the northern Gaza Strip is Sgt.
Shmueli, 21, from Be'er Ya'akov, is hospitalized at Soroka Hospital in Be'er Sheva and his life is still in danger.
Dr. Dan Schwarzfox, deputy director of Soroka Hospital, said last night: "Shortly before Shabbat, a soldier from the Gaza Strip came to us with a severe head injury. He was treated by the trauma unit. From there to the imaging unit and from there to the operating room. We hope the operation goes smoothly."
Shmueli enlisted in the Border Police in 2019, and was assigned to the undercover unit of the Southern Border Police. During his service he was involved in dozens of counterterrorism activities and the fight against serious crime in the southern sector.
