Habach: By-pass, yes, but with local access, please

Habach - The plans for a relief road for Habach and Dürnhausen are ready in the drawer.

But there is still a need for discussion.

At the Weilheim State Building Authority, they have a gun at their feet.

The plans for a new route of the State Road 2038 as an eastern bypass for Habach, which creates a connection from the B472 up to the road to Antdorf, have been drawn up for some time.

Around 450 meters of road, which, in addition to Habach, is primarily intended to relieve the traffic-plagued Dürnhausen.

For the first time, a cost estimate is officially available: the road construction authority has allocated around one million euros to the project.

This number was given by Andreas Lenker, department head for the Weilheim-Schongau district, in the most recent municipal council meeting.

The construction project on the state road is being financed entirely by the federal government.

Mayor warns of "effort"

You could go into the planning approval procedure this year. If not a piece of land was missing. After a round table, the negotiations with the owners have moved, but now there is a second problem. Because the Habach town hall is not that happy with the street plans. Mayor Michael Strobl sees a future closure of the eastern local access in favor of the mini bypass as critical. The state building authority wants to close the road completely - justified with safety aspects. But Strobl has repeatedly made it clear that the community would not play along with this solution. Should the driveway be blocked, this would mean “a relatively large effort” for local entrepreneurs and farmers, warned the town hall chief at the meeting. His demand:At least from Antdorf one must still be able to drive into Habach.

Andreas Lenker had detailed plans with him that evening.

The department head responsible for the Weilheim-Schongau district roads in the Weilheim State Building Authority presented the planning status for the relief road to the youngest Habach municipal council.

The 450 meter long route is intended to close the gap between the roundabout on the B472 and State Road 2038 to Antdorf.

Goal: Free Habach and Dürnhausen from through traffic.

Structurally no problem

Structurally, the whole thing is not a problem, the councils learned.

“Very simple in terms of road planning” and “actually unspectacular” in terms of heights, said Lenker.

The route would be connected directly to the roundabout, a first "corner" had already been made there.

The Sindelsbach is crossed and a standard culvert is being prepared for the water.

A wall of "excess mass" and a noise protection wall, each three meters high, are also planned.

Concern about "sneaking traffic"

As simple as the construction is, it is difficult with the existing eastern entrance via the state road to Habach.

A direct connection to the new relief road was thrown off the table due to concerns about too much through traffic.

The state building authority is now planning to completely close the driveway.

According to Lenker, the access road was taken out of the planning in response to a security audit that was submitted to the office in January 2020.

Lenker also warned of "sneaking traffic" through the village if the driveway remained open.

Instead, the traffic is to roll completely over the roundabout in the future.

The authority sees the detour via the roundabout to Habach as unproblematic - in contrast to Mayor Michael Strobl.

Road planning very easy "

Andreas Lenker from the State Building Authority

It is unclear what will happen to the old local approach.

The municipality has to decide on a demolition, said Lenker.

The through-road in Dürnhausen should also remain as it is now.

However, it is graded from a district to a municipal road.

One could think about how to get the trucks "around the outside", said Lenker.

A closure in the middle is possible - Dürnhausen would then be in a dead end.

Estimated cost at 1 million euros

The state building authority would prefer if the municipality officially comment on the access problem by the end of the year. Because at the end of 2021 you want to start the plan approval procedure. Public participation follows. The final plan could be approved in 2022 - "which is building law for us," as Lenker said. The start of construction is targeted for spring 2023. The authorities hope that a necessary property swap will come about. The route is "the chance" to relieve Habach and Dürnhausen in one fell swoop, said the head of the Lenker department. However, the federal government has to play along as a donor. The cost estimate is one million euros. But funds are not abundantly available in the face of large-scale projects. There is a “big problem with the financing of state roads,” Lenker warned his audience.

Topic in the next local council

The councils will definitely be concerned with the subject of "access".

Strobl announced that it would deal with it "relatively quickly" in the committee for the purpose of comment.

The cross-connection is already on the agenda of the municipal council next Thursday (August 26th) (7.30 p.m., town hall).
