Nir joined Golani after as a child he heard stories about the brigade from his former Golanchik father, and Michael arrives with great motivation from a supportive Eilat environment - straight to the Kfir Brigade.

On the occasion of the August recruitment, we accompanied eight young men just before they put on their uniforms

Last week, the recruitment of the August 2021 boys and girls to the field units and the fighters began.

Over the course of about three weeks, thousands of teens begin their service in combat units and other support arrays.

This time, though, against the backdrop of the spread of the corona, family members and lenders will not be able to enter the recruitment bureaus themselves.

Here at Walla!

We chose to accompany some of them, boys and girls, during the preparations for enlistment and in the IDF, as they put on their uniforms and embark on their long journey as soldiers in the IDF.

And this time: Meet Nir David from Ariel who enlists for Golani, and Michael Azulai from Eilat who enlists for Kfir.

Nir David

The father of the family, Golanchik, who fought in the 13th Battalion, told Nir David as a child stories of heroism about the brigade.

Thus, from a young age, David knew his place in the Golani, and rowed there from the first order.

David has a brother who fights Kfir and an observant sister.

He describes himself as a Blaine who enjoys time with his friends, but also says that he spent quite a bit of time training in preparation for the track examiner.

Michael Azoulay

Age: 18

Residence: Eilat

Placement: Kfir

Michael Azoulay comes from a small family in the southern resort town.

His older brother was also a warrior and served in Givati.

At first when he was assigned to Kfir, Azoulay did not know the brigade and its factory closely, but consulting with his friends excited him about his placement, when they praised the brigade and thought he would fit in with it.

One of the friends even served in Kfir, told Azoulay about the things he learned in it and how he later used them in citizenship, and of course shared with him everything that is important to know prior to enlistment.

Azoulay says that his environment is very supportive and believes in him, and that his motivation to enlist in the IDF and specifically to Kfir is very high. He also hopes along the way to become an officer and stay in the army.
