On April 18, Josef Niedermair was elected Mayor of Hallbergmoos.
He took over his office under special circumstances - now he's taking stock.

- The first day of work in the town hall is burned into his memory.
Professionally and emotionally: “It was Monday, April 26th, 2021. My father would have turned 100 on that day.
On this day my good friend, the former chairman of the advertising association, Higgi Gruber, died. ”Almost 14 days after he was sworn in on May 4th, the local council met for its spring retreat:“ It was a great event where we discussed the objectives together spoke for the near future, ”recalls Niedermair.
“When talking, people come together”: This is the credo that guides Niedermair.
He seeks a conversation with all parliamentary groups: “Every councilor can reach me from 7:30 am to 8:00 pm.
Personal contact is very important to me, ”emphasizes the town hall chief.
Some resolutions for important projects brought about
Within a good three months, Niedermair succeeded in bringing about resolutions for important projects: The planning stop on municipal housing in Predazzoallee was lifted.
The local council said “yes” to the natural swimming pool in the sports park.
The development plan for “the wave” - MUC surf park and Hybrid One office complex in Munich Airport Business Park - has been approved.
And finally, Niedermair has tackled the "hot iron" fire stations: A new location or plot of land is now being sought for the FFW Goldach.
The guard in Hallbergmoos is to be expanded.
In the autumn retreat, Niedermair wants to discuss how the multi-generational house in Tassiloweg will continue.
Regular exchange with neighboring mayors
Niedermair also maintains regular exchanges with the mayors of the “southern communities” Neufahrn and Eching, with Freising's Mayor Tobias Eschenbacher and District Administrator Helmut Petz. This also includes municipal housing projects. “When we invest in residential construction, we may go into debt. But that's healthy debt because we have rental income and the building as an asset. "
The efforts to force the construction of the new B301 route are running a little under the radar: “We need the new road parallel to the S-Bahn route.
Something has to be done urgently. ”As Niedermair emphasizes, this is important with regard to“ the wave ”and the planned event arena at the airport.
The federal government is responsible for the construction.
Niedermair has already spoken to Transport Minister Andreas Scheuer, his Bavarian colleague Kerstin Schreyer and State Chancellery boss Florian Herrmann.
“But the mills paint slowly”, so his impression.
Structures changed and clear lines drawn
In the town hall, Niedermair has changed structures and, as he says, "drawn clear lines": the community chief has made economic development a staff position.
Benjamin Henn is now (again) responsible for all aspects of the sports and leisure park.
The mayor has visited all the branch offices, the sewage treatment plant, the JUZ and the lunchtime care.
The primary school extension will start in summer.
Of course, there is still a lot to be done: "Our largest construction sites are currently sewage treatment plants and recruiting," says Niedermair.
