The activities of the second day of the Valley Conference for Syrian doctors at home and abroad, held at Al-Wadi Private University in the western Homs countryside, included lectures on precision medicine, hypothyroidism and its treatments, respiratory arrest, new therapeutic approaches related to the Corona virus and vaccine developments.
The lectures also dealt with new topics in digestive diseases in children, autism, the problem of the Corona vaccine in children, hyperactivity and inattention, and the role of magnetic resonance in diagnosing prostate cancer. Short films were shown on the treatment of vascular diseases.
Dr. Hanna Bergoud, an expatriate in France, specializing in vascular surgery, explained that during today's lectures, a number of internal medical and surgical topics were discussed in various specialties, with the participation of experienced doctors, which contributed to achieving scientific benefit for all and learning about the latest medical developments.
In turn, Dr. Elias, an expatriate architect in America, noted the importance of the topics that were raised related to the Corona virus, as it dealt with all that is new in treatment methods and its development, mutated strains and the size of the lymph nodes after receiving the vaccine, pointing out that addressing the latest medical developments gave special importance to the conference.
For his part, Dr. Azzam Najjar, head of the Homs Medical Syndicate branch, explained that the conference constituted an opportunity to benefit from the experiences and expertise of expatriate doctors who attended in person or via the Internet, and contributed to getting acquainted with the latest scientific developments in the medical field, noting the importance of raising topics of precision medicine, as it is one of the latest specializations in addition to Topical the latest treatments for hypothyroidism and respiratory arrest and the non-surgical treatments currently in use.
Dr. Sam Abboud, Director of Al Mazina Hospital, also noted the importance of the topics raised, as the lecturers discussed the latest medical developments in a number of specialties.
On the sidelines of the conference, a short story competition entitled “Alienation” was held, during which the participants reflected feelings of love and nostalgia for the homeland and the sincerity of their belonging to it.
It is noteworthy that the conference is organized by Al-Wadi International Private University in cooperation with the Syrian Society of Ophthalmologists, the Syrian Doctors Syndicate, the Association of Friends of Expatriates and the Syrian Association of Oncologists.
