The branch of the General Organization for Seed Propagation in Hama Governorate has completed the operations of receiving wheat and barley seeds from the multiplication fields contracted with for the current season.
The director of the Foundation’s branch, Engineer Abdul-Ghani Al-Aswad, stated in a statement to SANA reporter that the final quantity of wheat seed that was received from the contracted farmers amounted to 18,400 tons, while 245 tons of barley seed were received, pointing out that 3,200 tons of wheat seed and 537 tons of barley seed were received from Farmers of the liberated southern countryside of Idlib governorate.
Al-Aswad indicated that the branch is following up the operations of sifting and sterilizing the wheat received from the breeding fields and storing it in bags prepared for this purpose, to be distributed as seed to farmers during the next season, in the main sieve in Kfarbham, with a production capacity ranging between 100 and 130 tons per day, in addition to the agricultural mechanization sifter with a production capacity ranging from Between 35 and 50 tons per day, indicating that the quantities of wheat seed that have been sifted and sterilized to date exceeded 5,200 tons.
