Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova rejected Poland's accusations against her country regarding the migration crisis in Europe, saying that "Warsaw in particular has a role in that crisis."
Zakharova indicated in a post on “Telegram” today, according to RIA Novosti news agency, that there are dozens of people on Poland’s border with Belarus, while about 5.8 million people moved to European countries between 2015 and 2020, most of them from the Middle East and North Africa.
And she pointed out that "Poland has a direct role in the crisis, as Poland participated in the invasion of Iraq, and in this country alone, more than 10,000 Polish soldiers participated in the military operation, with the calculation of changing cadres during the period from 2002 to 2008."
"When will Warsaw present an assessment, and what will this assessment be of its games and NATO's games, which have caused an unprecedented migration crisis and the displacement of peoples from one continent to another," Zakharova asked.
Zakharova's comments came in response to the statements of Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blasak, who accused Russia of "causing the migration crisis on the border between Poland and Belarus."
