London-Sana
Thousands of people demonstrated in London today in protest against the approach of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization "NATO" in managing the situation in Afghanistan, which allowed the Taliban movement to take control of it.
Thousands of people took to the streets of the British capital and marched to the seat of government and Prime Minister Boris Johnson in Downing Street, carrying banners reading "Stop the killing of Afghans and stop the oppression of Afghan women" and a number of them waved Afghan flags.
In turn, British MP Tom Tugendhat criticized the rapid withdrawal of American and Western forces from Afghanistan, saying that it led to the withdrawal of the rug from under the Afghan forces in favor of the Taliban movement, likening the order for a fighter to enter a fight while he was blindfolded.
Johnson faced sharp criticism this week over his government's handling of the crisis in Afghanistan and the evacuations from Kabul airport.
