A 30-year-old resident of the north was convicted of causing the death of a man nine years ago • Last weekend he was caught again - driving while disqualified, with his wife and small children in his car

A surprise awaited the traffic department cops last weekend.

At the end of a car chase, they arrested a 30-year-old northern resident, who was discovered that despite his young age - he was convicted nine years ago of causing the death of a man in a fatal accident.

At the time, his license was revoked for 10 years and he was sentenced to actual imprisonment - which he ran.

Two years after his release he was caught driving again while disqualified.

Even then, he was sentenced to 24 years of disqualification, as well as another prison sentence, which he ran.

An indictment will be filed against him tomorrow (Monday), and a request for detention until the end of the proceedings.

In the latter case, traffic police officers spotted a man committing a traffic offense while his wife and young children were in his vehicle. The driver was asked to stop, but instead he began to flee until his road was blocked. Even then, the driver had no intention of being caught, so he disembarked from the vehicle, and fled back onto the road - where he burst into a foreign vehicle, uninvolved, and sat in the back seat. Police officers who spotted him arrested him for questioning. As stated, the investigation revealed that he was a traffic offender, when in 2012 he was convicted of causing death by negligence in a fatal accident, and was sentenced to 18 months 'actual imprisonment along with 10 years' imprisonment. Two years after his release, he was caught driving while disqualified, and in 2016 he was sentenced to 24 years of disqualification and imprisonment.

On Friday, the suspect was brought to court to extend his detention, on suspicion of driving while disqualified, reckless driving and driving without insurance, where a prosecutor's statement was presented to the court, regarding the intention to file an indictment against him and a request for detention until the end of the proceedings. "This is a suspect who is not normative by any standards. The great danger that can be said to be unusual in its severity stems not only from his driving circumstances, which endangered himself, the car occupants and other road users - but also in realizing he had nowhere to run, and tried to escape. From the terror of the law, "said the police representative at the hearing.

On the other hand, the defense attorney asked for his release, as he said he did not get involved in any traffic and criminal offense after he was arrested in 2014. The court did not accept the defense attorney's words, and extended the driver's detention until tomorrow morning. "This is a suspicion of committing serious offenses, indicating danger and daring, when it should be noted that even in sentencing - in the proceedings conducted in his case, for his involvement in the fatal accident - it was stated that he finds it difficult to take responsibility for his actions. Heavy penalties were imposed on him, "the judge's decision read.
