The Ministry of Health is encouraged by the vaccine data in the Arab society this weekend and is showing cautious optimism.

This is after the summary of the numbers shows that on Saturday we vaccinated 14,000 people in the Arab public, of which about ten thousand in a third vaccination.

However, it is precisely the data on the third vaccine, for adults, that highlight the great challenge in health services - the vaccination of adolescents, where the numbers are still unsatisfactory.

In addition to the Ministry of Health, the Home Front Command, the Center for Local Government in Israel and the Forum of Heads of Arab Authorities also share the concern and the explanatory effort, and now they have also been joined by elected officials in Arab society.

The chairman of the joint list, MK Ayman Odeh, who recovered from Corona, was vaccinated today with his son, and took the opportunity to call on the public to get vaccinated. "Ahead of the start of the school year, it is especially important to take care of ourselves, our environment and, of course, the teachers," he said. He addressed the public directly and exclaimed, "I ask everyone to go get vaccinated now. It is our responsibility to ourselves and our family, friends, neighbors and society as a whole."

"This week is critical," he tells Walla! Ayman Saif, the corona projector of the Ministry of Health for Arab society. "From last Tuesday when we started with a focused effort we brought the resources to the authorities and in the cooperation of the heads of the authorities we work shoulder to shoulder to open the school year safely in all Arab localities. This is the main challenge for us and I deal with it day and night personally."

"You are already beginning to see the fruits."

Turn to youth with shawarma and ice skating

According to Saif, more than 25 complexes were opened in cooperation with the authorities over the weekend, in addition to the HMOs' extensive vaccination activities.

"Our target audience is Arab society and as a result of this activity, in cooperation with the heads of the authorities, information in the various media and through medical teams, we have seen the response among the Arab society, which was high and amounted to impressive numbers."

In localities, creativity is revealed.

In Umm al-Fahm, the vaccinated youths were offered ice skating, and in Isfahan, shawarma and drinks were offered.

"In Kafr Qara, for example, led by the head of the council, we saw an excellent response. Also in Jisr a-Zarqa, in cooperation with the head of the council, we opened a night compound and at first reached a state of supply exceeding supply, with hundreds of people queuing. Yesterday we opened the compound. Again, we added hundreds of doses, and it really was a very successful vaccination day with a good result, "Saif said.

There were also places that worked less well, such as in the city of Shefar'am and in the Rama local council.

"There are all sorts of explanations for this. Mostly there has not been enough time to get organized," says Ayman Saif, "of course there is room for improvement. We are learning it, learning and improving. It should be understood that this whole array of night complexes and vaccine mobility is less than a week old."

Morbidity data in Arab society, as of today

  • 392 new verified, out of 5,329 new verified throughout the country (7%)

  • 8% of the tests - in Arab society

  • The percentage of positives increases, and approaches the average percentage in the general company (about 5%)

  • Seven localities and 22 orange ones

  • Rate of vaccinated and recovering people aged 12-15 - 25%

  • The proportion of those vaccinated in the third dose aged 50 and over - over 36%

"At the same time, we are still concerned about the low percentage of vaccinators, especially between the ages of 12 and 15, where we stand at only 25%," Saif emphasizes. In the coming week, we have opened centers for vaccines but also for corona tests, both rapid tests and serology, and are preparing for tests within schools. We are investing a lot of resources for maximum deployment in Arab communities and we very much hope for cooperation from parents and students Studies are safe. "

Saif says that from focus groups held at the Ministry of Health, it has been claimed that the discourse in which information is spoken is not appropriate for the youth, and especially the young people in it.

"Campaigns with professors is something that speaks less to them," he admits. "This and that will bring about change. After what we saw over the weekend, it gives us hope that we are already beginning to see the fruits."

"We are also aware of Pike News," says Saif. ".
