Prof. Israel Oman, winner of the Nobel Prize in Economics, served for the Likud Party.
"I function for the Likud because it is an important and good party," Prof. Oman told Israel Today. "It matters to me who will be on the Likud's list for the Knesset, so I want to vote in the primaries, so that I have some influence. I support Uzi Dayan, Amit Halevi, who is a dear and Zionist person, and Amir Ohana, whom I know personally."
Maj. Gen. (Res.) Uzi Dayan tweeted after Prof. Oman's announcement: "I am pleased to announce that Prof. Israel Oman, winner of the Nobel Prize in Economics, responded to our request and functioned for the Likud. Many will strengthen the Likud and the national camp. "
