A murder investigation was opened after the death of a man on Saturday evening in his apartment in Rennes and a second man, present at the scene and injured, was taken into custody, the Rennes prosecutor's office told the

The events took place in an apartment located rue de la Volga in the Blosne district, south of the city.
The victim, born in 1975, "
seems to have succumbed to the blows carried during a fight which took place at his home
" in the early evening, indicated the deputy public prosecutor of Rennes, Sébastien Farges, confirming information from Ouest-France.
Another man, injured and present in the apartment during the emergency response, was treated in hospital and then "
taken into custody
".
"
Very alcoholic, he is the main suspect
" and had spent the evening with the victim, said the prosecution.
The investigation, entrusted to the judicial police, will have to establish the causes of death which "
are not precisely known
" to date. The autopsy of the body will take place on Monday, specifies the prosecution.
