Sean Weissman was relegated with his team Valladolid to the second division in Spain last season, but he may not continue to play there for long.
According to a report on the French website Homme du Match, Sporting Lisbon submitted to Valladolid an offer to loan the Israeli striker with an option to purchase him.
The Portuguese hope Weissman will strengthen their attack, and the fact that he holds Portuguese citizenship is an advantage for them.
Weissman scored six goals in his Spanish league debut season, but failed to assist his team, which relegated to the second division at the end of the season.
He may now join the Portuguese champions, who will play next season in the home leg of the Champions League.
