A Nahariya resident (42) was arrested this morning (Sunday) on suspicion of threatening Mayor Ronen Marley.
Police opened an investigation into the case last night, after receiving a report at Hotline 100.
Nahariya police arrested the suspect.
The police said that "depending on the development of the investigation, we will decide whether to request an extension of the suspect's detention in the Magistrate's Court in the Krayot."
At this point, the investigation of the incident is ongoing.
As you may recall, last February a stun grenade was thrown at the home of the director of the security department in the Nahariya municipality.
There were no casualties in the incident and no damage was done.
Police arrested a resident of the city at the time, in his 30s, on suspicion of committing the act.

Mayor Marley said at the time: "Trust the police to quickly find those actually responsible and bring them to justice."
Last March, another stun grenade was thrown at the same employee's home.
In this case, too, an investigation was opened.
