One dead and nine injured in a horrific car accident on Kwong Fuk Road, Tai Po. The male surnamed Zheng (59 years old) suffered a head burst and multiple fractures in his body. He died of serious injuries on the spot. Another pregnant woman surnamed Wu (38 years old) was rescued from the car. She was in a coma and was rushed to the Shatin Wales Hospital for emergency treatment. It was initially confirmed that she suffered a severe head injury and a burst pelvic bone. She is now hospitalized in the Intensive Care Unit.
The boy, surnamed Liu (4 years old), who was also sent to the Wales Hospital for emergency treatment, suffered injuries to his head, hands and feet.
As of 6pm today (22nd), there are still 5 injured people in hospital, of which 3 are in critical condition, 1 is in serious condition, and 1 is in stable condition.
Among the three critically injured, a 63-year-old woman surnamed Song was transferred from the North District Hospital to Tuen Mun Hospital for further treatment; one man and one woman remained in the Prince of Wales Hospital.
As for the 38-year-old pregnant woman surnamed Wu who was severely injured under the car, her injuries were serious; another male injured was treated at the Prince of Wales Hospital and her injuries were stable.
The remaining two women and one man were discharged after receiving treatment at Nethersole Hospital and Prince of Wales Hospital.
