Donald Trump recommends corona vaccination

Maga hats, US flags and lots of Trump devotional items - this is what it looks like in the audience when the former US president makes one of his pompous appearances in front of his own fans.

These usually hang on his lips and cheer every utterance of their idol.

During a performance in the state, however, Donald Trump had to listen to unusual expressions of discontent from the otherwise well-meaning audience.

What happened?

The Republican had openly spoken out in favor of vaccination against the corona virus.

Trump in Cullman, Alabama, literally: “I recommend accepting the vaccination offer.

I did it, it's good

Get vaccinated. ”Thereupon boos and other angry screams from the audience.

In response, Trump said, according to the British Guardian: “It's okay.

It's okay.

You have your freedoms «.

And then on: “But I've already got the vaccine.

If it doesn't work, you'll be the first to know.

OK?"

Trump himself had himself vaccinated against the virus shortly before the end of his term in office.

He was already sick with Covid-19 in 2020.

Most recently, he had spoken out in favor of vaccinations several times, including on the influential Fox News broadcaster.

Politicians vie for those who refuse to be vaccinated

According to surveys, many Republicans in the USA view the corona vaccination with skepticism.

The government's vaccination campaign recently stalled - mainly because many of these so-called vaccination skeptics do not want to be protected against the virus.

This not exactly small group is becoming increasingly politicized.

Numerous Republican politicians are vying for voters by railing against the wearing of protective masks, for example.

In doing so, they repeatedly put forward the alleged protection of personal freedoms as a justification.

Most recently, President Joe Biden had openly criticized the Governor of Florida, Ron DeSantis, for his blockade in the fight against Corona.

DeSantis, like many others in the conservative camp, is hoping that his party will be nominated for the 2024 presidential election.
