A supposedly overturned rubber dinghy on the Loisach fortunately turned out to be a unicorn bathing island on Sunday afternoon.

A large contingent of the water watch was deployed.

On Sunday, August 22nd, around 2 p.m., the observation of a Garmisch citizen triggered a large-scale operation of the water rescue service. The 73-year-old caller reported a capsized rubber dinghy on the Loisach. According to her, it drifted past her upside down at the Loisachauen. After the emergency call was made, the rescue chain was alerted and ultimately the water rescue service with 15 men and two boats, the rescue service with three crews, an emergency doctor and two operations managers were on site. In addition, the police helicopter was also alerted for a search from the air. A short time later, however, the all-clear could be given. There were no people in need and the rubber dinghy that was sighted was just an inflatable unicorn that could be fished out of the Loisach by the forces of the water rescue service. kb
