A huge fire broke out tonight in the town of Sir Dennieh in Akkar, northern Lebanon, before spreading to forest and fruit trees.
The National News Agency reported that civil defense personnel and residents rushed to put out the fire before it spread to residential areas.
It is noteworthy that two major fires broke out two days ago in the southern Lebanese town of Srifa, and they came over areas of olive groves.
On the other hand, the agency indicated that protesters blocked the Minieh International Highway in Akkar in both directions after placing cars and trucks in the middle of the road to protest against the deterioration of their living conditions and the lack of fuel at the stations.
The blocking of the road also caused a suffocating traffic congestion in the area, especially the secondary roads to which traffic was diverted.
