Ten months ago, Haim Revivo felt back pain. On ultrasound, they found a four-inch tumor in his kidney. "It's hallucinatory," he muses, "you go into a hospital to do something else, and then suddenly you discover something like that."
In an interview to be published on Friday in a huge and festive issue of "Shishvat", Revivo recounts the uneasy moments that went through him in anguish.
"I had a CT scan to see if the tumor was malignant, but it fell on a trip I had planned to Dubai with Eyal Golan and friends," he shares his feelings in the interview.
"I asked to postpone the test until I returned. I wanted to enjoy first. Why would I miss the trip to get into some bad place? My wife Sagit got a little freaked out and was angry that I was irresponsible. The truth is, the family was much more stressed than me. Everyone. Sagit, the children, parents, siblings "I'm more practical in things like this."
He packed a suitcase and flew for four days.
"When we returned to Israel all the members wrote in the WhatsApp group that they were not feeling well and went to be tested. We went there six, five got infected in Corona and only I did not. But again I had to postpone the CT because I went into isolation. I came with the results to Prof. Josephovich, "You know what people are lucky with? You." He said we caught the tumor just before he started sending metastases, and that if we cut, everything would be fine. And that's what we did. I was lucky. That there really is someone guarding me from above. "
