Starting this week, the token parking meters that are installed in all commercial and downtown areas of San Isidro will stop working: this week the
digital parking
system began to work
,
which will completely replace the old tokens.
Like other municipalities, which have been working with
digital control systems,
San Isidro chose to migrate the metered parking system to an application, which can be used on any cell phone.
It's called
SIE
, for those who use
Android, and SEM Mobile, for Iphone
.
To facilitate the transition and not leave out those who have more difficulties with the use of technology, or do not want to download it because they only occasionally go to shopping centers, you can also continue paying at the more than
100 participating stores
, the same as before they sold the metal tokens.
As of Tuesday, the new application is already in effect.
"In a more agile, modern and simple way, the neighbors activate it from the cell phone in a very simple step," they pointed out from the Municipality.
The application was developed by the University of La Plata, and was installed with the aim of contributing to the ordering of traffic in shopping centers, with greater convenience for users and, a key issue, will speed up times.
From the Commune they pointed out that the
APP San Isidro Estaciona is
also available on Telegram and Facebook Messenger.
The new application will provide important benefits from being able to consult the occupation of the metered parking streets to choose free places, make credit transfers between users, check the available balance, and consult the geolocated adhered points of sale.
In this first stage, it will be launched in San Isidro, Acassuso and Martínez, and then it will be extended to La Horqueta, Las Lomas and Dardo Rocha street, among other areas where there is a large influx of people, even some where parking is not charged today. .
It is planned to extend it to all shopping centers and around the railway stations.
To park using the application, you must first charge credit, which can be done in cash at one of the stores or through Mercado Pago.
The maximum limit will be four hours, in order to avoid long stays, since in commercial areas rotation is key so that customers can find available spaces.
When removing the car it is very important to “close” the stay in the application, otherwise the system will continue to charge.
On the other hand, those who choose not to download the application should, after parking the vehicle, go to one of the adhered premises and indicate to the merchant the license plate, area, time of stay (minimum one hour, maximum 4 hours) and their email .
The system will send an email to your mailbox where the details of the operation are indicated.
"As everything is registered in the system,
it is not necessary to place any receipt in the vehicle,
" they pointed out from the Commune.
“It can be a bit complex for those who do not manage well with a cell phone.
I hope they are tolerant at first until we get used to it.
But it is always good that they help to order, because a lot of people come here and we all want to park at the door ”, says Mercedes Viña, owner of a shop in Alvear, Martínez.
The municipal controllers will go through the parking areas measured with a mobile device to verify if each vehicle has a valid charge in progress.
In case of not having activated the system, there will be 5 minutes of tolerance to activate it to the patent.
After those 5 minutes and if you continue without activating it, the controller will proceed to draw up the corresponding act, leaving the verification of the infraction registered in the system and a proof of the infraction in the vehicle.
All the information on the new system is published on the Municipality's website: https://www.sanisidro.gob.ar/san-isidro-estaciona, and the mail estacionamientomedido@sanisidro.gov.ar is available for those who have doubts. .
