In the first bite we felt guilty, then we understood the passage | Israel today

The new kosher branch of the "Papa Jones" chain offers kosher versions of the chain's classics, with a variety of special and kosher meat substitutes.

Papa Jones opened a first kosher pizza branch that incorporates vegan meats on the pizza, and it's a religious holiday that all their childhoods saw gentile movies that included pizza with pepperoni, and the maximum they could get was a ton over the pizza - and it's not like that at all.

Of course, a tasting was required to make sure that these were the required flavors on the pizza, and for this purpose we made an order from the kosher branch in Petah Tikva.

The delivery arrived hot, but really hot, and included a "bee sting" pizza (vegan pepperoni, buffalo and honey drizzles, NIS 84.90), the recommended Papa Jones (vegan pepperoni, vegan minced meat, Italian cheese mix and touches of Italian spice, NIS 84.90 Parmesan garlic bowls (dough bites topped with "Papa's famous garlic sauce" and Italian spice with touches of Parmesan, NIS 21.90), and for dessert a chocolate crunch roll (fresh dough baked in a rolled oven with walnut chocolate and baked in the oven, NIS 29.90) and ricotta cake ( NIS 29.90).

The pizzas were ordered from thin dough, topped with a thick layer of cheese.

The "bee sting" was accompanied by a slight sharpness, but the honey touches were hardly felt, how do we do that?

Just before Rosh Hashanah.

The non-vegan ground beef and pepperoni over the second pizza was accompanied by a slight sense of guilt in the first second, but already in the first bite it was clear that this was a vegan product.

As one who likes most of the toppings on the pizza, including pineapple, broccoli, potatoes, eggplant or a whole sabih sandwich, the vegetarian flavor is less attached to the pizza itself, perhaps because sausage / meat from the plant itself is not particularly tempting.

Other than that, the pizza dough was heaven at its best, crispy, fresh and especially delicious.

The sauce and lush cheese combinations were delicious and correct, and without a doubt this is one of the better pizzas I have ever tasted, even more than the one I ate in Italy (at the local Chabad house, but no one will take it from me).

The garlic bowls were a combination of airy and light dough with - finally - a noticeable amount of garlic, unlike many garlic breads where you pick up after a slight hint of spicy taste, the cheese was clear and present and demanded to be recognized, and with the right spices the dough became a delicacy worth its calories.

Chocolate Crunch Rolls were rolls of compressed dough topped with hazelnut chocolate sprinkles, and the ricotta cake would suit those who don’t like very sweet desserts, preferring them soft, light and with delicate layers.

It was the most successful and delicious dessert of the two, and showed that even in pizzerias you can get invested desserts.

In the end, the vegan pepperoni gimmick is not the one that will attract me to order from Papa Jones again.

The pizza itself, with its excellent cheeses and sauce, is what will make it, and big time.
