The incidence values in Bavaria continue to rise.
The higher number of cases also affects the rules when shopping.
Munich - The corona virus is on the rise again, the incidence numbers are rising.
As of August 23, 2021, the 7-day incidence in Germany is 56.4.
Bavaria cannot escape this trend.
The seven-day incidence in the Free State was 41.1 on Sunday (August 22).
However, 27 Bavarian districts and cities, including Munich, are currently above the Corona limit value of 50.
What effects does this development have on consumers when they shop at Aldi, Lidl, Edeka or Rewe?
If the 7-day incidence exceeds the threshold value of 50 on three consecutive days in a district or an urban district, the corona rules in retail will be tightened from the next but one day.
Corona rules at Aldi, Lidl, Edeka and Rewe: branches have to limit their capacities
The shop operator must first of all take suitable measures to ensure that a minimum distance of 1.5 meters can be maintained between customers.
If the threshold of 50 is exceeded, further measures must be taken depending on the size of the branch.
On a sales area of up to 800 square meters, shops are allowed to let in one customer for every ten square meters.
In larger shops, the following applies: For the part of the sales area exceeding 800 square meters, 20 square meters must be available for each customer.
The following examples serve to illustrate this.
If a shop is 500 square meters, a maximum of 50 customers may be admitted.
If the store has an area of 1000 square meters, a maximum of 90 customers are allowed in it (80 for the first 800 square meters, 10 for the 200 square meters beyond).
Incidentally, the rule applies to all wholesalers and retailers as well as service and craft businesses with customers.
Corona rules at Aldi, Lidl, Edeka and Rewe: Beats could form in front of branches
This could result in queues in front of discounters and supermarkets as the incidence increases.
On average, an Aldi Süd branch has an area of almost 1,000 square meters.
Aldi Nord and Lidl each have around 900 square meters, while Netto is only 800 square meters.
Rewe (around 1500 square meters) and Edeka branches (around 1300 square meters) are around half larger.
Corona rules at Aldi, Lidl, Edeka and Rewe: Different regulations apply depending on the federal state
However, the rules change depending on the state.
Sol in Lower Saxony, the access restrictions apply as in Bavaria from an incidence value of 35. From an incidence of over 50, the rules for the retail trade are tightened further.
A negative corona test must be presented again in retail.
Shops with a sales area of less than 200 square meters and those that are part of the basic supply such as supermarkets and discounters are excluded.
In Hesse, the rules apply when the limit value of 100 is exceeded.
