The theater in the Roßstall has awakened from its long corona sleep.

The group around director Cecilia Gagliardi is currently rehearsing a new piece.

Germering - It will be performed for the first time in October.

In addition, the members of the Roßstall-Verein “Freundeskreis Germeringer Bürger” are currently working on the conversion of the cowshed on the former farm.

The use of the stables for non-theatrical purposes has also started again.

After the first lockdown in March 2020, there was only a short restart interlude in the autumn.

The comedy "Breakfast at Tiffany's" planned for spring and a welcome revue created a theatrical atmosphere on eight evenings.

Then the next lockdown followed.

The team around club boss Helmut Henner is therefore cautious before the new start.

Only eight performances are planned for the time being.

There will be a world premiere on October 24th: “Umkehrhorizont” is the work of Cecilia Gagliardi.

She wrote the “comedic chamber play” during the lockdown.

The content has also been heavily influenced by the corona pandemic.

According to Cecilia Gagliardi, it is a vision of the future and should show: "How will people be if we forget about culture?"

She tried to implement what the lockdown triggered on her. But this is not an anti-corona piece. Above all, Gagliardi wants to emphasize how important culture is for the coexistence of a society.

The theater also had to write its own play for the next premiere for one reason: the author was able to tailor it to the actors who were available. Because Corona has given the theater scene a completely different blow: "There are fewer or no actors who can be engaged," explains Gagliardi, who also stages her play herself. The reason is simple: Many actors gave up their jobs out of necessity and looked for something else in order to earn money. In “Umkehrhorizont” there are therefore only five traditional Roßstall actors on stage: Josua Ovari, Anna-Luna Richter, Katja-Lisa Engel, Oliver Kübrich and Katrin Bielski. Because of the lack of staff, there is no second piece available. Cecilia Gagliardi and Helmut Henner therefore appeal to everyone, who have already been on stage before or who absolutely want to give it a try: "Get in touch."

The renovation of the previous cowshed is carried out by the Roßstall himself.

So far it has mainly served as a rehearsal room and warehouse.

So far, volunteers have already worked 500 hours for the redesign, says Henner.

Despite this free help, the association has to reckon with expenses of around 30,000 euros.

This is one of the reasons why the resumption of theater operations, which brings money into the coffers, is overdue.

Independently of the theater, the Roßstall will be offering a senior afternoon for the first time on Wednesday, September 8th.

Singing folk songs, which has been suspended for just as long, is still not possible due to the corona.
