(ANSA) - ACI CASTELLO, 23 AUG - A 26-year-old, Vanessa Zappalà, was shot dead last night while walking with friends on the seafront of Acitrezza, a seaside village of Aci Castello, in the Catania area. According to the testimonies collected by the Carabinieri, the victim's ex-boyfriend, who is actively sought by soldiers of the Arma, fired. The shooting took place around three o'clock last night, near the port of the seafront of Acitrezza, a seaside village where Verga had set his 'Malavoglia'. The victim was in the company of some friends when the ex-boyfriend with whom she broke off the relationship abruptly showed up, apparently asking for clarification, and shot her several shots, killing her.A friend of the victim was smeared in the shoulder in the shooting. Several ambulances and the carabinieri from the Aci Castello station, the Acireale company and the Catania provincial command intervened on the spot and immediately started the investigations.
