Spain lifts the ten-day quarantine for Argentines who can travel

Starting this Tuesday, Argentines traveling to Spain will not have to comply with the ten-day quarantine that the Spanish government had imposed in July on travelers from

six countries in Latin America

and Africa, including Argentina.

This was confirmed to

Clarín on

Monday by a source from the Spanish Ministry of Health, which had established the measure on July 23 and affected passengers on

flights from Argentina

, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Namibia and South Africa, for be considered high risk for Covid infections.

The mandatory quarantine, which could be reduced from 10 to 7 days if the person underwent a PCR test and the result was negative, was originally going to be in effect

until 9 August

.

But Spain extended the measure until midnight this Monday.

Requirements


In other words, from this Tuesday, Argentines traveling to Spain must have

completed the vaccination schedule

against the coronavirus at least fourteen days before landing on Spanish soil.

This vaccination will be considered valid

only if they were immunized with any of the sera authorized

by the European Medicines Agency -Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca or Janssen- or approved by the World Health Organization, which adds to the previous vaccines Sinopharm and the Sinovac-Coronavac.

For those who were

vaccinated with Sputnik V

, not yet recognized in Europe, the requirement to enter Spain is to have

a negative PCR

performed 48 hours before arrival.

Even so, not all Argentines can, for now, enter Spain.
