The Education Bureau urges schools to use different activities in the new school year to promote the mental health of students and strengthen support for students with mental health needs.

A spokesman for the Education Bureau said that schools are encouraged to adopt a whole-school participation model to promote students' mental health and support students with mental health needs.

Including short films, articles, brochures and teaching kits, etc., to enhance the awareness of mental health among different stakeholders in the school, reduce negative labels, and strengthen students' resilience.

The "Campus-Good Spirit" website will regularly update students' mental health information, and set up "Parent Classroom" and "Student Corner" columns.

In order to strengthen teachers’ professional knowledge of mental health, the Education Bureau has provided elementary and secondary school teachers with systematic mental health professional development courses and lectures on relevant teacher topics from time to time; and "How Schools Can Help Students with Mental Health Problems", etc. The guidelines will list information for early identification of students in need and support for students with mental illnesses for teachers’ reference.

In addition, the Education Bureau will provide schools with support projects, such as the "Student Guardian Ambassador Program", and the implementation of the "Medical Education Society Collaboration Program" with the Food and Health Bureau, the Hospital Authority and the Social Welfare Department.
