US President Joe Biden has expressed his "deepest condolences" to the victims and said that the federal authorities are prepared to assist the disaster centers in need.

He also approved aid to the states of Rhode Island, Connecticut and New York, which are expected to be hit hard by Hurricane Henry.

"This storm has the potential to cause extensive damage across the region with significant flooding and power outages that could affect hundreds of thousands of people," Biden said.
