In a testimony from the Afghan capital, a student who lives in the city says of the Taliban's fear: "Everything has changed - women are not allowed to take to the streets unaccompanied" • She added: "If people make noise - shoot in the air"

In the shadow of the catastrophe in Afghanistan, Israel Today received additional evidence from the capital, Kabul, with a rare description of what was happening around the airport, recent attempts to escape, and how the country has changed since the Taliban took over.

"Everything has changed - women are not allowed to take to the streets unaccompanied," says a student from the Azeri community in Kabul.

"I can no longer wear the clothes I want, can not comb my hair as I like. They want us to wear only traditional Afghan clothes without fashion," she describes, adding that many power outages have been recorded in the capital.

While the international air evacuation operation continues, the woman - whose name is kept in the system, for reasons of her personal safety - provides a glimpse into what is happening where most of the efforts are now directed: Hamid Karazi International Airport. "The Taliban does not allow us to reach the airport, its people are at the main entrance to the place. The second entrance of the compound belongs to the United States - and they are our only hope. They behave better, and the people are waiting there to enter, "she explains of the difficult situation in the field.

"If people make noise - shoot in the air," the student says with concern and apprehension.

"It's terrible for women and children. They have no water and food. We can't move, and there is nowhere to fetch water ourselves. Most of the girls, women and children fainted due to lack of oxygen."

At the end of her testimony, she adds that "there are thieves who are taking advantage of the situation. I can no longer write."

Thus ended the conversation, which provides a glimpse into the horrific reality in Afghanistan since the Taliban took over the country, and the horrific plight of a crime-free population.
