(I did not know) .. The first poetry edition of Dr. Adel Merhi

With her beauty, delicacy, rebellion and pride, the female dominated the images and compositions of the first poetic collection of the poet Adel Merhi.

The collection is located in 21 flirtatious poems for which the poet chose titles that express sorrows, sorrows and groans, stemming from the core of his own experience that cast a shadow over his life after his separation from his life partner.

Maree says in a poem entitled A Woman of Ashes: "I did not know that I would kill myself and kill all the jasmine flowers in my garden. I did not know that the love that we planted together would disappear behind the hills, carried on the shoulders of travelers."

During a ceremony hosted by the Cultural Center in Homs to sign the group, the poet and critic Rifaat Deeb saw in a critical reading of her that Marei is a romantic poet whose poems came as a true expression of the suffering he lived while he was in the glory of his youth.

As for the critic and writer Dr. Nazih Badour, he noted the poet’s experience, which is added to the experiences of other medical writers such as Abd al-Salam al-Ajili and Chekhov, pointing to the most prominent title of Marei’s group, which is nostalgia in all its manifestations, which carries the sincerity of emotion in a beautiful manner promising the birth of a creative poet whose heart beats with life.

The poet Maree explained that he borrowed poetry by instinct three years ago, to come up with a new and unusual poem, whose type was called “The Poetry of Rhymes.”

The poet, who holds a diploma in human medicine from Aleppo University in 1995 and a master’s thesis in general surgery, prefers not to mold the poet into a specific pattern.

Marei expresses his hope that this new type of poem will be accepted by poets, writers and critics, and will prove its existence soon.
