Aviv Geffen joins a long line of artists and celebs who oppose the government's conduct in dealing with the Corona virus and the severe damage to the world of culture, which has only recently begun to recover from previous rounds of closures and restrictions.
"Dear Horowitz. Don't blame your government's systemic failures in the world of culture," Geffen was furious at the story he posted last night (Monday) to his Instagram.
"In the last month, I have appeared in front of more than 25,000 ticket buyers, and I do not know of a single case of infection," he wrote and demanded: "Interrupt the chains of infection, do not interrupt the world of culture. Signed the story.
Geffen's anger comes after Health Minister Nitzan Horowitz in an interview with News 12 yesterday referred to the emerging possibility of re-imposing strict restrictions on mass gatherings, including the possibility of closure during the approaching holiday season.
"Mass gatherings are contagious, so we want to reduce that more than what is happening now," Horowitz said.
"During the previous government, such figures would have long since led to a full closure," he argued, "but now the restrictions are quite soft. Everything is open. We want to maintain livelihoods and keep the economy alongside the corona."
